whats the best motherboard for me?

so im building a pc (mainly for gaming) and im on a budget.
so i decided to go with
core i7 3rd gen
gtx 1050ti zotac oc
8gb ddr3 ram

and im not sure what motherboard to choose
i found the asrock p65 icafe and it suits all my specs but its from year 2012
so is it gonna be good? or is there a better option

I think a Z77 would be the best option, specially if you have a 'k' processor and if you want to OC it. It will run the k version fine, but won't OC.

You could probably get a modern system with the same or better performance for the same money as you are look at for the CPU and motherboard.

I'd agree with that. If the OP already has the listed bits, and only the mob to go, it really depends on what CPU he puts in there. If it's an I7 3770/k lets say, it's plenty to drive the 1050ti to it's max, and be pretty capable at 1080p 60hz. Anything beyond that though, and i'd agree a newer architecture would be better served with the money spent. The system listed can't really be upgraded. But it is pretty balanced for 1080- 60hz, medium to high settings.

If you don't mind used the motherboard start at $129 whereas new starts at $300. If you want new then it is cheaper to go with something like a Ryzen 5 2400g and a B450 motherboard as that combination would be under $250.
