Hi I was wondering what the best pre build pc was for 1.1k. I already found a build that includes CPU- i7 3.6ghz GPU- AMD radeon r9 380 Ram- 16gb. That is from cyberpowerpc is this good enough?. Is there any others that beats that? Also what is better gtx 960 2gb or radeon r9 380 4gb.

you can do better for the money on cyberpower's site rather than one they mass built for shops.

you should get a better gpu for that money on the site itself with an i5 cpu. the i7 is not needed for gaming and is money better spent on the gpu. let me skim the site again and see what i can piece together for that budget.

Thanks. What kinda gpu like a 970?

Ok i came up with a CPU- i5 3.5 ghz GPU- gtx 970 turbo RAM 8gb PSU- Standard 80 Plus Certified Power Supply - SLI/CrossFireX Ready

Is it really worth downgrading ram by 8 and i7 to i5 just for a gpu upgrade. And how much am i gonna be affected going from 16 gb to 8 gb ram.

most games don't use the 4 cores the i5 has much less the 8 threads of the i7. newest games are up to 4 cores now but that's it. so the i7 will not be fully used. same goes for the ram. not many games can fill up 8gb ram much less 16 gb.

on the other hand, the 960 v 970 is the difference between decent 1080p performance of the 960 to full out maxed settings and still high fps of the 970 at 1080p. and of course the 970 can handle 1440p as well.

in my opinion the 970 is worth the cheaper cpu in the system. the i5 is the sweet spot for gaming performance and will be for a good time to come.

Ok thanks so if I get this computer over the other one would i bet set for the future?

While I agree on the GPU front, I don't agree on the CPU and Ram issue.

My Son-in-law runs FTB and several other high-end games and he is maxed out and needs more than he's got.
He has an MSI GD65 with 16GB Vengeance Ram with an i7 4770K CPU.

I'm also just about to build a rig based on an MSI Gamer board and my minimum is going to be an i7 4790K with 16GB Fury Ram.

Personally, I'd buy a case and build my own and add to it when I can afford it. If you really want a pre-built rig, I'd go the extra mile for the i7 rather than the i5 any day and add more Ram when you can.

you'll be set for a good couple years. eventually to maintain the highest settings in AAA games the gpu will have to be upgraded but that is a couple years down the line. games are always needing more and more power and no one can be sure what next years games will need but on average a couple years is pretty good for a gpu to stay at highest settings for the newest games.

there is a difference between the cores being used at 100% and every core being at 100%. i don't know of any game that will use 8 cores the i7 has. i think you are mixing up what exactly is being used and not used.

Thanks for all your help I just have one more question. I realized the shipping is free for this computer so I have the option to upgrade the ram to 16gb.Also if you do say get ram should i get 8gbx2 or 4gbx4. Should i do that or something else for an extra 70$

Yes I am putting on 16gb of ram qwith a gtx 970 and a i5 3.50 ghz

Really sorry mate but which is better 550 Watts - XFX TS Series 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Power Supply vs 600 Watts - Standard 80 Plus Certified Power Supply - SLI/CrossFireX Ready also my final rig is CPU- i5 3.50 ghz GPU- Asus gtx 970 Turbo Ram- 16gb

Thnx so much for the help!

Yo math geek i still have not ordered my computer and went to check on the link you sent me and it seems like they changed the cpu to amd. Is there another computer you know of for under 1.1k thats an i5 good gpu.
