What's the best processor I can get?

What's the best processor I can have on my MB?
I currently have a AMD Athlon X4 860K and a Asrock fm2a88m extreme4+ Motherboard.
A cooler, rather than the stock one, would also be a nice suggestion.

You already have it. The only better chip is the 880k which is the same as the 860k just with a slightly higher clockspeed.

Correct. FM2+ only has a limited selection of CPUs and the 860k is pretty much the best one. It was always meant as a budget platform, it never had any high end CPUs released for it.
