I HAVE to upgrade WIN 7 to WIN 8 to run TurboTax 2020.

I HATE to have to do this and want the cheapest way to activate WIN 8.

Given a valid Win 7 license, you can upgrade to Win 10 for $0.

Use your Windows 7 license to upgrade to Windows 10.

Given you are on W7 right now, Windows 10 is actually more similar to Windows 7 than Windows 8. I would suggest upgrading to Windows 10.

As others have said, you can use your existing key to activate Windows 10.

If you don't know your key, you can install Windows 10 and click "I don't have a key". Windows will detect the Windows 7 key tied to your computer and it will auto activate.
