Corsair XMS is a much better chip than their Value Select. Expect your VS to run with less upward mhz. capability if you try to overclock and without the tighter timings XMS brings to the game.

unfortunately, i relly dont know how to overclock things..... assuming i would using the setup AS IS.... would there be a big difference between the two ? should i feel bad i bought 2 x 1 gb value select than a twin one ? (for the obvious reason i cant get one)

or should i feel happy ?

btw... my memory ryt now... is... pls dont laugh... 64 mb...

Corsair has a lifetime warranty so you are good there. Going from 64Mb to 2 GB will be like going from riding your bicycle to climbing aboard a turbo powered jet bike. VS is not the quality and performance capable RAM the XMS stuff is that's all. You'll probably be fine and happy.

What is your current system and MOBO? If it's running 64mb of memory I am guessing it is old. I don't think you'll be able to add 2 x 1gb of DDR2. Check compatibility before you buy.

lolx @ ms-dos ! hahaha ! well, really close!
but who wouldve believe that my old system can play these games... diablo 2, sims, WARCRAFT!!

Amd duron 900mhz
64 mb ram
20 gb hdd
ecs cheap mobo..

now i have
Intel E6600
P5b-E Plus
2gb corsair ram
leadtek 8800 gts
250 gb hdd

yay

i only need a good psu

back on the topic... so, the value select is on par with the twin ones ? iveheard that the twin have heatsink... am i missing something for picking VS ? thanks alot !

You didnt screw yourself by going with Value Select, you screwed yourself by going with 667 when 800 is pretty much the standard now a days, especially when paired with a 6600, why skimp.

well. the thing is... i dont have access to corsair twin rams... even 800... i did saw a geil twin 800... but somebody told me.. it was better to get a corsair one...

and also... ppl said that if i wont be overclocking.. having a 800 mhz ram is useless since it maxes out at 533 or something.
