Should i buy tp-link 150 mbps wireless n router or tp-link 300 mbps wireless n router? Is it necessary that wireless router must be connected by a modem? Or is it better to have a wireless router cum modem?
Firstly if you use router you don't need modem, because tel. cable of model will be connected to router.
Depending on your internet speed and if you will work inside your network between pcs. Also check speed of your Lan/WIFI cards max speed.
Wireless router is enough , you don't need to buy modem separately ok.
I can also suggest you one 150 mbps wireless micro usb adapter from Wifi digisol. best product in very reasonable price. before purchasing compare between both and then buy. visit : http://wifi.digisol.com/product.html
It depends on your internet connection. You must have a modem of some sort for DSL or cable. Other system deliver you a ethernet and you do not need a modem. Now you can buy a router and modem as a combined unit or buy a modem box and a router box. Mostly this is personal preference. If money is not the primary concern you get much more router selection if you buy a modem and router separate.
The difference between 150m and 300m is a feature called MIMO. Both the router and the end device must have this ability or it will drop back to 150m. What is does is take the data and split it between 2 different antenna on the devices and transmit both signals at the same time. It will then "hope" to be able to separate the signals on the far end. It in effect intentionally causes interference with itself. Needless to say if there is lots of interference from other signals from neighbors and such it does not work the best.
