I just upgraded to high speed internet & need a new cable modem/router to utilize it. What is the difference between 802.11 ABGN & 802.11 b? I have TWC & an HP 302-1120m PC AIO running Windows 10. Is there anything in particular I make sure I get in the new equipment? Is there any advantage to a combo router/modem as opposed to getting each one separately?

802.11 ABGN - covers specifications A, B, G and N (A=5 ghz, B=11 mbit/s, G=56 mbit/s, N=102 mbit/s)
802.11 b or B - covers specification B only. Outdated, I highly doubt you can get one like it these days.

Everything in one box is convenient but then you are locked to everything in it. What if the modem works fine but you don't like the WIFI coverage? What if you have a favorite hardware firewall you want to stick in there? For flexibility reasons I prefer the ISP to give me a plain modem, then I add my favorite pieces behind.
