What's the difference between a PS3 and a XBOX 360 gamepads on PC?

I like to buy gamepads to play games with friends like Street Fighter X Tekken, Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed on PC, the problem is that I don't need only one gamepad, I need at least 3, Xbox 360 gamepads are more expensive than PS3 ones, I don't have the money to pay 34€ for each, for the price of 1 for Xbox 360 you can buy 2 for PS3 at least in my country Spain, I decided to buy these: "Thrustmaster PlayStation 3/PC T-Wireless Duo Pack Gamepads" in my country they cost 29€, and for the other 3rd or 4th I need, I will just buy some cheap ones. My question is what benefit I won't get by using these gamepads instead of Xbox 360 ones? I will play some single player games too that are compatible with gamepads.

I would go with xbox controllers, you can get their wireless adapter so you don't need to plug in. Also since microsoft owns xbox their controllers natively work on windows operating system. If you play 'Games for Windows' ports the controllers also work better.

The native support alone is why I would opt for the xbox over ps3.

Get some Rock Candy wired xbox controllers. cheap and work well.

those controllers you bought should do just fine. Xbox controllers like burden says is natively supported by windows hence Microsoft.

The Thrusmasters should come with software (maybe download from Thrustmaster) or hope windows will recognize them.

For genuine ps3 controllers, they need 3rd party software like http://www.motioninjoy.com/ highly supported software which installs its own driver and allows the ps3 controller to work usb wireless or wired.

If your controllers don't come with software, cant download any and windows doesn't detect, try Motionjoy, load driver under 'driver manager' in motion joy then reboot pc. Reboot is essential, many people complain motion joy not work, but all they need to do is reboot.

Edit, motionjoy is for xbox controllers as well, so not just ps3. Is a good chance it will work for the Thrustmaster's 'if you need it'.

xbox controllers are the only ones that are actually supported on pc's.

ps3 controllers dont have any first party support or official drivers.

And if I buy this "Thrustmaster GP Xid" is from Thrustmaster too but for Xbox 360/PC, says "¡Plug & Play and directly recognized by Windows and for PC games!" cost 20€, they don't need to be Microsoft brand to work natively no?
