Like the title suggests i want to know whats the difference between the Z170-A AND Z170 pro gaming (both from asus) apart from aesthetics is their any difference that might affect performance, OC'ing, sound quality , etc and which is mostly suited for gaming (yes i know about the obvious pro gaming in the name but i still want to know). Thanks

Not much from what I can tell. The pro gamer looks to have a better sound card supermefx vs crystalsound on the Z170A. For overcloking they should be the same, they have the same number of power phases and support the same meory clock speed, heatsinks on VRM's look similar if anything I would say the Z170As look a bit more robust however I doubt that will matter much. Overall performance should be the same. I would say the biggest difference is the software it comes with the z170a pro gamer has a bunch of included software I guess some gamers want, I personally probably wouldn't use any of it. And the bios looks a bit diffrent. They are essentially the same board the pro gamer just has a few extra bells and whistles, I would get...

Thanks for the info the pro gaming is £5 less so im going to get that one and i was kind of going for a red and black themed build anyways so this board was the ideal choice and thanks again for taking the time to answer my question.
