What's the difference between the different founder's edition cards?

So I was looking at the 1070s, and almost all of the cards are the same. What is the difference?

1. There is no difference in the Founder Edition cards, they are all reference cards.

2. All the FE cards are experiencing thermal throttling. These are for the 1080, but same is being observed in the 1070.

So then why are they being branded differently?

I can buy the same PSU from Antec and XFX. Seasonic is the OEM for both, why are they branded differently ? Asetec makes CLC coolers for Corsair, Antec and others, why are they branded differently ? Out of all the laptops you have ever seen, probably none of them were made by the company who's logo is on it.

Quanta sells to (among others) HP, Lenovo, Apple, Acer, Toshiba, Dell, Sony, Fujitsu and NEC
Compal sells to (among others) Acer, Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo and HP/Compaq
Wistron (former manufacturing & design division of Acer) sells to Dell, Acer, Lenovo and HP
Inventec sells to Toshiba, HP, Dell and Lenovo
Pegatron sells to Asus, Toshiba, Apple, Dell and Acer
Foxconn sells to Asus, Dell, HP and Apple
Flextronics (former Arima Computer Corporation notebook division) sells to HP
MSI makes their own laptops
Clevo sells to distributors and also sells under their retail arm Sager.

Clevo laptops are sold under a variety of boutique names ... WidowsPC, Alienware (pre-Dell buyout), Falcon Northwest, Eurocom, VoodoPC.

Yogurts and cheese products are made in regional dairies, and tho some recipies are modified slightly, many are not.... just branding.
