IMO, three years is really all you need. You probably upgrade before that.

Thanks. I was also a bit concerned the KR only had 2 feedback responses but I guess that is totally irrelevant. Exact same cards right?

However, do you think EVGA would be crafty enough to stamp the less refined boards coming off the conveyor belt with the KR 3 year warranty as they realise these ones might die quicker!?

They have to bin the card that failed and cannot be fixed in the factory, but card which failed and patched up and work afterward within the factory could be the ones going to kr. However, other vendors who don't have life time warranty, you can't even tell which card is which. I wouldn't worry too much about since there is a 3 years warrenty anyway.

Now there's a "recertified" "RX" version, for $50 less. Anyone know what differs with this version?
