What's the difference between these two GTX 970's?

Hi guys,

I am in the process of upgrading my graphics card, I have been looking on Amazon and I have found these two MSI GTX 970's but I cannot see why they are different other than from the way they look. The second one is an overclocked version, it will be faster at the cost of some heat and fan noise. If you are comfortable with overclocking on your own you can make the first one faster but not quite as fast. In short the second one is slightly faster, slightly louder, and slightly more expensive.

The first one is a reference model, while the red one is the top of the line Gaming model. The Gaming model will actually be considerably quieter than the reference cooler. The Gaming edition comes will all custom "Military Class" components in addition to that Twin Frozr V cooler. The Twin Frozr maintains very good GPU temperatures (at the expense of internally exhausting its heat), and shuts off the fans at temperatures below 60c, making it completely silent except during hardcore gaming. Even when gaming at full load, the MSI Gaming still has some of the quietest fans made for a GTX 970.

Meanwhile, the reference model is exactly the same as any other reference GTX 970, with the only advantage that the fans exhaust their heat externally outside the PC case. The Gaming model will be faster and quieter.
