Whats the difference between these two HDD- WD Blue and Caviar blue? (1 TB)

the one to the right is the older version, before sata 3 was the norm. for hdd-s it doesn't matter sata 2 or 3 so get the cheapest of the 2

The only difference in WD is blue black red green. The WD Blue to Caviar blue is just a different naming conventions for different models. Get the cheaper of the two.

No difference technically. WD simply decided to drop the word "caviar" from their range to avoid confusion and simplify the range. Now you only need to choose by colour.

As it stands, a "caviar" blue drive will just be older (and therefore possibly cheaper) than a "blue" drive which isn't called "caviar" any more in the adverts.

the newer driver (blue instead of caviar blue) also have more cache (64mb instead of 32). it's not a big performance difference but since the new one is also cheaper there's no reason to get the old one really...

1- Caviar was an old series / version and it was relatively Cheaper.
2- Blue is new series and its an expensive drive, But performance wise its a much better drive.
