What's the difference from where I buy RAM

So I'm looking to upgrade to 16 gb of ram (2 8gb sticks). I see it costing 120 dollars in one place, and 60-70 in another. Keep in mind that these are both 2 8gb sticks and DDR3, just one has a fancy cover around it.

That's not the same RAM. The less expensive one is missing some specs, from a mystery manufacturer, and is ECC, which means it won't work unless you're using a server motherboard. The only similar spec provided is that they're both DDR3 RAM at 1333.

And now, after following your old links, you're going back and changing around what you're pointing towards. I'm not interested in playing a game of musical chairs, so I wish you luck on your purchase!
