I'm not sure, but knowing Corsair, they wouldn't make a second one unless they thought they could improve the original... So I'd get the v2.

So far it looks largely like a rebadge with some cosmetic changes. They're restructuring their naming scheme, getting rid of the GTX/GT names. The 100i v2 has a new logo, new mount on the pump, new location for the iLink cable, and put an RGB led in instead of a white led. Fan, pump and rad look to be the same so cooling should be about the same. But its only recently been launched so we'll see how it fairs when some reviewers get their hands on it.

*Edit - Oh and user replaceable badge. So stickers!

If you're not planning on needing it right away, then yeah I'd wait. Let someone else be the guinea pig for a cooling system
