What's the fastest GT 9600 card?

I just came back from my friends house, we played some pretty perfomance-heavy games on his computer and when I asked him what graphics card he had, he said 9600GT.

Um, really a GT 9600. That card is over 4 years old and it was probaly on low settings. If you want a real card for today go with a 770 or 760

Probably the best GT 9600 is XFX GT 9600 XXX, but as said above, today it is quite the low end card.

I wasn't looking for a new GPU, I merely wanted to know the best model of 9960GT [edit: 9600GT*]

btw, I got a GTX 650 because my PSU doesn't support cards requiring auxiliary power and rather than buying a new PSU, I figured I could just get the fastest card which doesn't need external power
