Question What's the fastest NVMe drive I can get? B450 Carbon AC with Ryzen 5 3600 CPU

As the title says, I'm looking to switch the boot drive from an HDD to a new NVMe m.2, which I know the motherboard supports, but it seems a bit of a minefield.

I can't figure out what generation I should get and the speed. Any tips?

If so, a PCIe 3.0 drive, such as a Samsung 970 EVO Plus will work just fine, in the M.2_1 port.

Read all the caveats of slots and SATA ports being disabled.

In the above spec link:

1. PCI_E2, PCI_E3, PCI_E4 and PCI_E5 slots will be unavailable when installing M.2 PCIe SSD in M2_2 slot.
2. SATA5 and SATA6 ports will be unavailable when installing a M.2 device in M2_1 slot.

#2 is applicable to this situation, with the M.2_2 port.
