Hi,

I recently won a listing on eBay and got a factory built HP Desktop. I buy systems and use them for parts. But i am looking to find out what graphics will be the best for this build as im going to be using it for rendering, editing basically as a mini workstation purposes only. What would you upgrade but not upgrading the CPU.

Specs:
Operating System
Windows 10 Home 64-bit
CPU
Intel Core i5 6400 @ 2.70GHz
Skylake 14nm Technology
RAM
8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 797MHz (11-11-11-28)
Motherboard
HP 2B47 (U3E1)
Graphics
Intel HD Graphics 530 (HP)
2048MB ATI AMD Radeon R5 330 (Unknown)
CrossFire Disabled
Storage
119GB SAMSUNG MZ7LN128HCHP-000H1 (SATA (SSD))
2794GB Western Digital WDC WD30EZRZ-60Z5HB0 (SATA )
Optical Drives
hp PLDS DVDRW DU8AESH
Audio
Realtek High Definition Audio
PSU
180w

180W will not get you anywhere as far as a new GPU is concerned. I would advise upgrading the PSU to a quality 550W model, then throwing in 16GB of RAM if possible.

I'm also curious as to why it says you're using DDR3 RAM in a skylake build. Is your board specially built, or?

Upgrading ram and psu is no problem what would you recomend getting then? Ive got a spare 300w PSU i could chuck in so say with that what would be ideal. I was looking at the GTX 1050 ti to put in the current build?

^ that hp board is ddr3 skylake.

Re Psu upgrade - you are DEFINITELY going to need one.

Can you point us to your actual pc model case wize??

The board does take standard Psu connections , but we need to know if a atx standard size Psu will fit in your casem

1050 ti would be solid with that 300w PSU you're talking about swapping in. You really don't need 16 GB of Ram unless you're editing some huge 4k video files, but if you've got it laying around, pop it in. Should be a decent machine once the GPU and PSU are upgraded.

Hunted around and found this, Seems like what the system is and thats the case its in . Even better i could get a picture of the inside if needed https://support.hp.com/hk-en/product/hp-pavilion-550-200-desktop-pc-series/9259612/document/c05204297/

Also yeah what 1050ti would you recommend as im not bothered on how much i spend on upgrading due to getting this for less than of the 180w power supply. XD Winning bid was £47 + £5 shipping.
