I downloaded memtest and extracted all files. No image was shown in the folder. I went into Nero, clicked; burn disc image, and clicked on memtest folder which had the extracted files. When I clicked open, it says no image found. Reason Im doing this is because Ive been getting a BSOD and EVGA wanted me to run a memtest to make sure, yet Im having trouble burning memtest to disc. Any help would be greatful.

OK got it. Thanx. I was able to get memtest going but here's the thing....for multicores, the test started and 3 seconds into it (as it was at 7% of the first test) the whole thing froze...the timer stopped, when I pressed escape nothing was happening. Does this mean a bad stick(s)?

A bad memory module usually doesn't causes a system hang. Did you read the Technical Info at memtest86.com? Depending on your hardware, you might have to change some parameters.

What issue did you have that prompted you to download and run memtest86?

EVGA asked me to do a memtest to at least eliminate the sticks. When memtest started, it just asked me to pick: 1 single core, 2 multi cores, and 3 (I forgot). If I dont pick it goes to multicores I believe then starts at a inhumane speed. How do I change parameters and what am I changing? Ive used memtest before but never changed anything.

Have you tried to type "c"?

c Enters test configuration menu
Menu options are:
1) Test selection
2) Address Range
3) Memory Sizing
4) Error Report Mode
5) Show DMI Memory Info
6) ECC Mode
7) CPU Selection Mode
8) Redraw Screen
9) Adv. Options

If unsure, ask EVGA what Address Range, Memory Sizing and CPU Selection Mode are required for your motherboard. Also check what can be changed in Adv. Options.

You should take a look at http://www.ocbase.com/perestroika_en/index.php?Download. I haven't tried it, but it could help you determine what component is causing the issue.
