Hey, gents.

Looking into buying a new laptop. What is the point of getting a mSATA SSD? Why wouldn't I just buy a SSD and put it in my PRIMARY drive slot and load OS on that?

I will be loading Windows 8, Battlefield 3, and maybe one other game. THAT'S IT. Will a Crucial M4 128GB be plenty for this??

Should I do a SSD drive in the mSATA slot? If so...why?? What's the point? To load ONLY the OS on the mSATA SSD?

Thanks!

The point of mSATA is only the small form factor, therefore most times only ultrabooks are using mSATA and some Macs like MacBook Air, MacBook Pro Retina und the new iMacs.
If you buy just a normal notebook you can go for a standard 2.5" SSD.
