Hello everyone. So I'm building a PC for the first time and I need some help. Should I buy windows 10 Home USB or should I just create a bootable USB from the media creation tool.
I mean what's the point (more specifically, what's the advantage) of buying windows 10. On the Microsoft site they say that system builders should by windows 10. But can't we just create a FREE bootable drive and still get the same OS, regardless if you are paying money or not.

Hello NeonCookie

You can create a bootable disc or USB drive but you won't be able to personalize your Windows until it is activated.

Also, using any pirated version of Windows is illegal whatsoever.

If you are getting a new PC, you must buy a genuine copy of Windows in order get full technical support from Microsoft and also to avoid any legal complexities that you may face in future because of using an illegal copy of the operating system.

Cheers!!
In order to register it as a legit copy, you need to buy either a key or the media that comes with a key.

What happens if you install it without a key? Not exactly sure.... I think you can install it and it will work for a short period of time. If it keeps working, it will be an unsupported copy and not eligible for windows updates.
