Ok so I get a intel 660p 1tb m2 for Christmas. Think its gonna be as easy as any other drive I've installed over the years which is basically plug & play. maybe switch a setting in bios and boom, done. Boy was I wrong. Bios sees it, windows device manager sees it. But I can not access it and not visible in my drive list. It is going to be a extra storage drive, no OS install. What am I missing here ? On a gigabyte h170-d3hp mother board. I see in the device manager it says "was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match. I have been trying to figure this out for several hours now and it is getting very frustrating. Someone please help!!!

Have you initialized the drive, created a volume on it and given it a drive letter in drive management?

Have you installed the Intel NVME driver?

Updating the firmware on the drive, IF it is not already ON the latest firmware, is probably a good idea too.

You may also have to enable one or more settings in the BIOS for it to be usable. PCI/NVME storage sometimes must be enabled under BIOS settings and on some boards an NVME drive will not work if you have the OS set to "Other" or any non-UEFI parameter rather than set to UEFI or "Windows 8/10"
