Hi,

I'm a bit behind the times and was hoping for a quick and dirty about the way to go on a new build.

I get that SSD's replaced HDD's for speed and I do have SSD's now. But I see this PCIe and NVMe now? If I get a MB (Asus - ROG STRIX Z370-F GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard) with Z370 chip should I be getting one of these PCIe M.2 SSD cards or does it matter wrt speed and storage?

Whats the way to go...totally confused🙁

So, do you just treat the M.2 NVMe SSD as a regular HD and put the OS on it along with your apps and just use a regular HDD for storage? I guess you could still use the SSD for the storage as well?

OS and applications on the SSD.
Other things as the size fits.
Everything else goes on the HDD.

Treat the NVMe drive as you would your current SSD's. Just somewhat faster.
