Question What's this thing that came with my Inland KB21

I got a lighted numeric keyboard (here: https://www.microcenter.com/product/651928/inland-wireless-mechanical-numeric-keypad).
It came with this thing that I'll try to load a picture of. The thing is not mentioned anywhere in the poorly written instructions. What is it? What's it used for? It's a little plastic thing with a hole in it and then two wires coming out of it that are reminiscent of "rabbit ear" antennae. But it's got no connectors and no power or anything.

Cleaning is one reason to remove key caps. You might get something stuck under a key. Or you might want to swap key caps for something custom.

You would also pull the caps if you wanted to change the switches. Custom keyboards are a thing these days - there's tons of different switches, and all kinds of caps including special one-off ones!
