What's up with the R9 290(x) 's issues ?

I'm going to build my rig this week with a crossfire of R9 290 tri x, and i read a lot of report about issues with this serie of GPU ( Black screen etc).

Does it happen often now too, or this is more uncommon now ? i'm a bit scared.

You will be fine, if you will get a faulty part, just return it.

If you are buying a sapphire r9 290 you can be 99% sure it wont have any problems, If it does you can just RMA.

I hope so.
I have bought two of them, so at least, if one is faulty, i will have once to play with during the RMA process, i guess .
But this cards have a bit of bad customer review, on newegg for example, that's why i'm a bit scared.

Also, i saw that this card were very large, and i was wondering if a crossfire of these would be possible and " easy" on the MSI Z97 MPower Max AC ?
