Solution James Mason Jan 27, 2014 No you're fine, the extra pin wont get in the way, the connector will have a guide on it so you can't plug it into the wrong pins.

sunder25 Distinguished Jan 22, 2014 1,607 1 20,365 Jan 27, 2014 #2 no, you can plug 3 pins into 4 pin connectors, the 4th pin is for pwm. just make sure you get them in the right way, there is supposed to be a little ledge on the side of the mobo connector that fits to your fan connector.
