Whats wrong with my CPU im puzzled

Hey guys, ive just noticed that my Processor doesnt say AMD Athlon II X2 250 3.0ghz anymore now it says AMD Engineering Sample 1.61ghz, ive never seen this before what does it mean?? is my CPU on its way out or??

I havent done anything like change any settings or anything, my OS is Windows 8 Professional x64, here are the screen shots

Im puzzled to why its done this, and now its running at 1.61ghz instead of 3.0ghz wtf!!

Your BIOS is out of date. Update your BIOS and it will read the CPU correctly. If you give me your laptop model I can guide you through the process.

Hi mate, its not a laptop its a desktop pc, so all i have to do is just update my bios? ill look for an update now mate cheers bro

Hi mate, yeah it worked a treat thank you bro, i had a BIOS update that was released a week ago, so if ever this happens again ill know how to solve it, i guess you learn something new everyday haha, once again cheers bro
