What's wrong with my hard drive?

Hello, I just bought a 1TB western Digital hard drive from best buy the other day. I hooked it up, and it looked like it was there. After trying to download a game from steam, it seems the download keeps stopping and freezing, now anything that has to do with that hard drive, seems to freeze up. I can't check the drive for errors, as it won't stop freezing whenever I do anything that has to do with it. Please help

The above link is to Data LifeGuard from WD. It can look at the SMART Data from your drive to see what the issue is.

I scanned it, and it said it was fine. But I'm back to where I was, now I can't even format it. It keeps saying there was a problem

So just exchange it at the store, and the new drive will come formatted.

Yes, so it is a new drive not working, so that is why you should exchange it for a new one.

I strongly recommend getting in touch with our tech support and let them know about your issue.
