Can someone please look at this pic and tell me why my memory is so little...This HP branded PC is getting real slow. Is it because I way I place the ram in the slot? This HP PC came with 8 GB(4 sticks of ram), I took two out and left only two behind.
This is the motherboard: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c01324212
The ram is placed in the two blue slots. I am not sure if this is the problem or not. Should I place them in other order or this is right?

Why did you take ram out in the 1st place ? If it were slow with it in, it will be slower now, with some out. Put it back in.

If you system is slowing down, you could be infected. Run you antivirus and malware scans.

There is no way to tell from the picture why the PC is slow, you need to look at what processes are running and see what is taking up the RAM. Looks like you have 2 gig in use, which is really high for a system with nothing running. As suggested above, run a virus scan http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/242796-44-simple-free-guide-removing-malware

You may also want to think about re-installing Windows (as long as you know where all your programs are and have your data backed up or stored on a second drive).

Can be normal.

Free ram doesn't mean that is the ram that you have left to work on.

Go to resource manager, and see the memory tab. See how much standby memory you have. These space are not free like free space (all zeros). But they are available and immediately over written when needed (about just as good as free ram).

If you transfer a lot of stuff between HDD, you will get a lot of the ram space in standby.
