What's your favourite era in Civ3?

Mine would be the industrial age, first when I get to lay down railway lines
as it makes defence so much easier. Getting replaceable parts is great
because then I can pay back all those other civs who gave me so much grief
throughout the ancient and medieval eras.
In my opinion, artillery would have to be one of the most powerful units in
the game (nukes aside!). It has allowed me many times to come from a
position of weakness with small territory, military and tech lag to
eventually taking my rightful place in the world with everyone else under my
thumb! <evil laugh>

In Civ:CTP I would say ancient, but when I played civ3 it was a bit
different becouse you had less possibilities and so. But still for me in
civ3 I had most fun in playing ancient, and industrial. I didn't like modern
in the long run and middle ages where only quite a short episode in the game
with not much new units.
Well thats my opinion...

I generally enjoy anything, but I have considered creating a scenario
where there is a maximum technology level. I haven't done that
yet,but it is an option if you want to stop the advancement.

Up until all the map is explored.

On a huge map, in the modern era, the game becomes exceedingly boring and
repetitious.
