I have seen it online. Doesnt seem like my type of game, but still is funish.
Figured it would be fun to mess around with while watching Netflix.

Seems to me like a more visual version of PCPer as from what I've heard they added pricing but I'm really interested in seeing the custom water cooling aspect of it.

That and making a custom build with two Titan RTX's.... 🤣

I'm waiting for GEARS Of WAR 5. Can't wait to play this highly optimized game. Some Good News for AMD owners !

Microsoft and The Coalition have shared some new PC tech details about Gears 5. According to the teams, the PC version will support Asynchronous Compute, Multithreaded Command Buffering, as well as AMD’s new tech, FidelityFX.

Going into more details, Asynchronous Compute will allow GPUs to execute multiple tasks at the same time. This GPU multi-threading capability enables efficient graphics and visual effects workload distribution, resulting in higher framerates.

On the other hand, Multithreaded Command Buffering ensures instructions from the CPU reach the graphics card faster. This will result in higher performance, better graphics and reduced latency.

Last but not least, The Coalition will add support for AMD’s FidelityFX via a post-launch update. This feature will offer a dynamic sharpening filter that draws out detail in low-contrast areas for a sharper gaming experience. FidelityFX aims to deliver improvement in image clarity, counteracting the softening caused by other post-process effects.

It looks like RAY TRACING has become an obsession these days.

Modder ‘doom_rtx’ has released a mod that all owners of NVIDIA’s Turing GPUs will appreciate. Doom RTX brings real-time ray tracing effects to the FIRST Doom game. The modder has used the Vulkan API and you’ll need at least an NVIDIA RTX 2060 in order to run it.

According to the modder, this remaster demonstrates the features of RTX. Alongside the new ray tracing effects, Doom RTX comes with improved texturing, as well as other changes and improvements.

In order to run Doom RTX, you will need an original game/iwad. Both the Steam and the GOG versions are currently supported. You will also need an NVIDIA RTX GPU. All graphic cards below them will not be able to run this or will display incorrect lighting/glitches and very low framerates.

NEVER Mind the above RTX support for this first DOOM game. It's fake as hell !

According to reports, this mod is based on the banned Doom Remake 4. Some users claim that the “texture_lights.wad” file from both releases is the same. As such, there is a chance that this mod may not feature proper ray tracing effects. After examining two videos, I found some similarities and some differences between Doom Remake 4 and Doom RTX.

On the other hand, the modding team claims that it has not stolen anything. Moreover, the modding team claims that this mod is indeed using ray tracing effects.

Under further investigations, it appears that this mod is indeed based on Doom Remake 4, and does not use real-time ray tracing. This mod uses GZDoom which does not feature any ray tracing capabilities. This very same mod was uploaded on ModDB back in June 2019 and was taken down by its moderators. However, this time the ModDB moderators were not quick enough to delete this new entry. So yeah, while this mod improves visuals, it basically borrows a lot of stuff from other mods. Not only that, but it does not feature any ray tracing effects.

Bummer.

Is it bad I cant tell the difference between a ray-traced game and a game without RT?

Is it bad I cant tell the difference between a ray-traced game and a game without RT?

No. Even I feel the same.

There is hardly any huge image quality difference between RTX and non-RTX games. Apart from that, when playing a fast paced game, who is going to stand still and watch all the "reflections", "shadows", 'global illumination', and lightning. Hardly anyone, unless he/she really wants to see some image quality difference, which otherwise won't be noticeable when playing games.

So yeah, to some extent RTX is indeed a hype for now. Maybe in the future things might change though. But I digress.....

So why would Nvidia kill so much performance for something that really isn't noticeable in games to begin with?

Nvidia isn't killing the performance though. Actually, the current Hardware isn't fast enough to ray trace an entire image screen. It requires a lot of GPU horsepower.

RTX is in an infancy stage right now. But it has been an industry standard CGI. Someone had to start to bring RTX to consumers, and Nvidia was the first to do this, by releasing the TURING GPU lineup, giving hardware level support for ray tracing..

I"m waiting for this Game. It looks fun. OUTER WORLDS.

Next month, Obsidian's next RPG is due to release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, bringing players to a new universe of possibilities on one of Halcyon's worlds.

The Outer Worlds is due to release on October 25th, and in the game's latest trailer perspective players are shown what to expect on the worlds of Monarch and Terra 2. This trailer is formatted like an advertisement for would-be colonists, though it also showcases the humourous tone that Obsidian aims for with this release. The Outer Worlds brings with it a heavy Fallout vibe, though that should be expected from the developers behind Fallout: New Vegas.

Ray tracing is great for cinematics, but it isn't anything new in movies from what I gather.

So why would Nvidia kill so much performance for something that really isn't noticeable in games to begin with?

Ray Tracing has been the go to for movies for probably 2 decades. It is just much better at making smooth lines, realistic shadows and lighting. If we ever get the hardware needed to do real time ray tracing at max settings for the entire scene it would blow rasterization out of the water.

I think nVidia is on the right path though. The only way to do RT properly is hardware. Sure we can try software but it just wont be as efficient or look nearly as good.

Keep in mind movies are merely content displayed onscreen. There's zero need to make them anymore than 24 FPS, whereas most games lag at that point. They also don't have to play test and a myriad of other things which affect the cost of making games. So they can spend that money instead on tons of time perfecting each scene. It's why movies like Avatar look so good compared to anything you see in games.

Also, it's not just light and shadow that RT affects. Reflections are a huge part of what it can improve, and very noticeable. Even if the reflections aren't 100% Ray Traced and mixed with Rasterization, you'll see a big difference.

It was said well before Turing GPUs were released by a former Nvidia employee though that RT in it's infancy will mostly be something for developers to learn to use, and that it will take years before RT can be fully utilized in games without lots of lag. For the time being though there will be games with mixed RT and Rasterizing that will have very good reflections because of it.

That said, I DO feel Jensen Huang rather misled Nvidia customers at the Turing announcement with lots of false promises as far as RT capable games, how soon they'd come to market, and what performance to expect. It was clearly mostly hype to get early adopters to invest in it to fund it's development.

This is one of the best graphics overhaul MOD for WITCHER 3 ! There is no ETA, but I hope the modder releases it soon by the end of this year.

Modder ‘Halk Hogan PL’ just released a new comparison video for the new version of The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project. This video will give you a glimpse at the new HD textures that will be coming in version 11.0.

Halk Hogan PL has improved a variety of textures for different materials. Players can expect better textures for skulls, statues, anchors, roads, walls, railing and more.

The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project brings very high quality textures. These new textures come with great sharpness and performance, and without any unnecessary VRAM losses. The mod also packs very high quality accurate normal maps, high quality meshes with a lot of details and better objects LODs.

From what I know so far, Halk Hogan PL does not use any AI-enhancing techniques. In other words, and while these textures are really close to the original ones, they are custom-made.

Check out this MOD.....This is brutal and fast paced....Doom 2016 gets demastered with old-school graphics.. Hell Yes !

DOOM 2016's weapons are used in Doom 2.

Introducing Doom 4 Vanilla, a new mod that basically demasters id's beloved 2016 shooter complete with weapons and enemies straight from the maws of rebooted hell. The mod is standalone but is also compatible with open-source Doom versions, and was made inside of Doom II.

It brings that visceral old-school look and blends it with the chaotic fast-paced flow of Doom 2016, all without any jumping or crosshairs.Doom 4 Vanilla is built around one simple premise: "Doom 2016...the way 1993 did it." You can download it here and check below for more info:

While the game looks good stock having played it I feel it was over blown, especially since everyone hyping it was comparing it to Skyrim visually. While it is better than a game 4 years older than it Skyrim can be very pretty with mods.

That said its still a fun game. Minus Gwent which I have yet to figure out. I still prefer Triple Triad for a card game.

I agree. Witcher 3 is still one of the best looking PC games, after Crysis/Skyrim etc. Though, some textures are pretty washed out in some of the Game levels, and object, stones etc.

The above HD MOD aims to fix this though, and the difference is indeed there. The textures are sharp as well. BTW, I played the game by using Reshade presets, via SweetFx.

Some presets really helped improve the overall Image quality and clarity.

I mean they will. You are maxing out three stats and adding in perks (no idea which they are). I typically did stuff like that with mods over command lines.

If you really want to have fun try this:

Its the Alchemy loop. You can basically enchant something so high that you can punch a elder dragon to death.

Okay...Thanks. I'm checking that STEAM link, but I don't seem to find an answer yet. Do I need to follow these instructions ??
  • Enchant a full gear of Fortify Alchemy Gear.
  • Make Fortify Restoration Potion.
  • Remove Alchemy Gear.
  • Drink Potion.
  • Put back on the Alchemy Gear.
  • Make another Fortify Restoration Potion.
  • Repeat 1-6 until you have a Restoration Potion you're satisfied with.
  • Remove Alchemy Gear
  • Drink Restoration Potion
  • Put on Alchemy Gear
  • Make Enchanting Potion/Smithing Potion (make a lot. like 20 of each)
