I've just bought the components to build a new computer. I recently built one for my mom and the only issue with that was a motherboard screw shorting it. This time, however, has significantly upped the frustration with upwards of 15 hours of fiddling and research.

I've installed the i7 7700k, mounted the fan and sink, plugged in the RAM sticks, powered it with my 750 G2, and plugged in the SSD for the OS(Windows 10). When I went to install Win10 from the USB they sent me, everything was working fine, until it started installing the OS and eventually BSOS with stop code WHEA_Uncorrectable_Error. I read this error is a hardware issue so I've done the steps I've found online to try and isolate the error, but with no luck. Currently, I am not using 3.0 USB, I've wiped the SSD from the initial install, I've made sure any OC capabilities are disabled, and am sitting at 25-27C degrees on the CPU.

I can't view drivers or boot through Safe Mode because this is a fresh install. If anyone has any advice or recommendations I would much appreciate it.

I'm using 2 8gb corsair vengeance sticks, my SSD is Samsung 250gb SATA, my motherboard is an Asus Z170-A.

I finally got Windows installed after resetting my CMOS. After a while I got a few more WHEA errors, and once again, resetting the CMOS seemed to fix it temporarily. I opened minidump to find the crash errors and hal.dll and ntoskrnl.exe are highlighted in red.

100 series motherboards (z170,b150,h110,etc) need a bios update to run kaby lake cpu's. You'll need to get or borrow a skylake cpu to update the bios or get a 200 series motherboard. (z270).

Hi. I recently had the same error. I fixed it, increasing the vcore of CPU. Apparently, one of the possible causes of this error is undervolting or overvolting of the CPU. In my case, the "auto vcore seting" in the BIOS doesn't work correctly. Before to increase the voltage, I had random BSOD. Remember that changing CPU voltages can be dangerous if not done with care.

Anyway this is just a possible cause, I recommend you test your hardware (ram, ssd, etc) and check conexions and temperatures before.
