when are 2 different gpus able to work together?

Hi, I am wondering if 2 different gpus can work together and if you can make them work together will they also share there vram? So for example if a grapic card got 2 gb and another 1gb will they share it so at the end you got 3 gb vram?

No and No. In order to do a SLI or Crossfire the GPU's need to be the same and the memory is not shared so if you installed two GPU's with 2gig of ram you would have 2gig of ram to work with. Sorry it does not work that way.
