Hello all. In reading a recent thread about Lightning Greaves, I
suddenly remembered one of my initial confusions with the equip
ability.
Lightning Greaves relevant line is:
Equip {0} ({0}: Attach to target creature you control. Equip only as a
sorcery. This card comes into play unattached and stays in play if the
creature leaves play.)
I remember wondering what in the world "attach" meant. In looking
through the rules, it's obvious that "attach" is also a word used in
the rules for local enchantments. However, I don't ever remember
anyone ever really using that term until equipment showed up.
Does anyone remember when "attach" showed up as description of
artifacts' or enchantments' relationship to another permanent? I must
admit that, without a glossary entry, I found "attach" a little
confusing. Until I re-read the relevant rules portions, I never
realized that equipment and local enchantments have this in common.
Thank,
Rick Kunkel
