Question When do we need to use PCI or PCI-e?

I have not used any PCI or PCI-e slot yet. When do we need to use these? I do not play 3d games.

you don' t need to use them if you don't have card that use them

You use those for additional hardware (not built into motherboard).
This includes - discrete graphics cards, sound cards, sata controllers, usb controllers, ethernet controllers, wifi cards, video capture cards, tv tuners, M.2 to PCIE adapters e.t.c.

Agreed. If your computer currently does everything you need it to, there's no need to add an expansion card which would use one of those slots.

You need to use some of those slots when you have something to plug in them.
