Like the title says, when I connect the gpu I get no display. This is my first build and I'm hoping I've made a mistake vs having a bad gpu. But when I remove the gpu and use the onboard graphics, it boots straight to the bios. Here's what I have:
Cooler master masterbox lite 3.1 case
I5 8400 CPU
500w evga bq psu
Gigabyte b360m ds3h motherboard
Gigabyte gtx 1060 3gb
Ballistix 16gb 4×4gb ddr4 2666
Yes I have the gpu plugged in through the psu. I do have the hdmi display connected to the graphics card. I've seen people say to update the bios, I don't know if I should or not?? I've tried disabling the onboard graphics (which led to me having to reset motherboard). I don't have another computer to try the gpu in. When I have the gpu connected, all the lights still turn on, and all the fans are running as they should except the gpu fans which spin for a couple seconds than stops. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.
