When headphones are plugged in my laptop increases volume when the cord is moved

So I have a dell inspiron 15 5000 series its not more then 2 months old and their have been a few issues such as parts of the keyboard malfunctioning and the mouse freezing randomly but they have all resolved them selves. The issue im having now is when I have headphones plugged in the volume level randomly increases if something just touches the cord. Any help is appreciated.

Probably something wrong with the port?
