Hi guys,

I have a windows 7 computer. I just got a new 2 gigs of ram and replaced it with my old 1 gig. Once i got my 2gigs in it worked fine, then I installed my 1 gig of ram to see if it worked. And it did. So in total I have 3gigs. Then I checked my system rating and it changed from 5.5 to a 5.4. My memory type is dual channel both for the one gig and the two gig. Anyone know why this is happening? Is it worse to have my old 1 gig inside with my 2 gig? Will doing this slow down my pc?

My current specs:

ATI Sapphire Hd 3650
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+
Motherboard - ASUStek NARRA
3072MB of RAM

The first 2 GB is dual channel, but the last GB is not and that's why the rating decreased slightly. It slows down your PC very slightly, but if you really need 3 GB, then don't worry about that rating. Having more memory should make the system better, regardless of the rating.
