When I plug in my SSD my computer goes into Repair Mode and doesn't boot

So I am using a Dell Inspiron 7559 right now, and the internal Hard drive is painfully slow. I bought a Samsung 860Evo M.2 SSD and installed it. at first it worked fine, but I decided to leave migrating the drive over another couple of days because it'd take like, 12 hours. When I woke up this morning the laptop would only boot straight into Auto-Repair mode, and I can't seem to get it to work. I took the SSD out and the PC worked fine again. any fixes to this problem would be fantastic

I'm an advocate of reinstalling the OS no matter what media you migrate to. In this case, you should've backed up all content from your original drive(HDD) before formatting the initial OS drive and installing the OS fresh on the SSD. Also , make sure you're on the latest BIOS update for your laptop.
