when i put my USB in the dvd player it tells me to reformat i don't know how

how do i reformat so i can watch my movies,i'm not sure on how to do this

DVD player (sound like stand-alone, you did not specified but I guess) doesn't like how the USB (whatever kind of drive u did not specified either) is formatted in. Consult DVD player manual, it would spell out what it likes, most likely FAT or FAT32, and if ur lucky exFAT. Then you must reformat the said drive in the correct format on a PC before you can use it on the DVD player.

Also be warned that formatting the drive WILL erase it so backup any files on it first.

Fat32 is very common for these kinds of devices.
