When I record using OBS the recording is laggy but while im playing it doesn't lag

Basically whats happening is when im recording with OBS my game is perfectly fine, the FPS are not dropping below 40 which I like but when I have finished recording and decide to watch the video, the commentary is normal but the gameplay is laggy, as if I was getting 10 FPS.
Also, when I record using the built in windows screen recorder the gameplay is laggy for me, like 25 FPS but also 25 FPS on the recording which is a major improvement from the 10 FPS but using OBS and getting 40 FPS+ would be better, does anyone know how to fix this?
I have an i5-6500u CPU, a 940m GPU and 8GB of ram, also a 1TB HDD.

A. Are you using the CPU to encode or the GPU? If your using the CPU encode with the GPU.

B. Lower your bitrate and resolution if your having frame rate problems.

C. For a completely laggy stream, the frame rate of your stream has to be the same or a multiple of your frame rate in game.
