I'm currently using a Samsung 850 Evo 250GB SSD
However I'm looking to upgrade my capacity, I'm looking at either the 500GB or 1TB model, however the price jump is pretty much double(as expected)

Still, I'm in no rush, and I know every year at some point the price of storage devices drop quite a bit as higher capacity releases, though I don't know when this is, or when would be a better time to purchase(if this time isn't now)

Solution
SSD prices are bound to continue dropping.
Keep what you have for as long as you can.
When a SSD gets to 90% full, that is the point to increase the size.
The technology for nand chips keeps improving, so Price per gb should continue to fall.

When a new product is on the horizon, you will see sales to move old stock.
But, is that the time to buy? Perhaps it is the new product you should be looking at.

Probably best to just buy what you need when you actually need it.
During the last 3 months, SSD prices droped off quite a little in my country (from 85 to 70 Crucial 240G). It seems like it's still going to drop more, but it's hard to say when it ill drop fast: Maybe if the M2 SSD gets more popular, the "classic" SSD would come cheaper, but who knows?. The next socket change comes with ZEN and the AM4 platform. If I had to make a choice, I'd say just after the Am4 release.

Agains, this is all about wondering, no oficial info.

Yea, issue often is that certain stores always seem to have said product on sale, though I can't really consider that a sale.

Well that's exactly my case, I often dip below 30GB capacity on my SSD, the question is if is should get a 500GB which I can afford right now, or wait and get twice the size, though waiting may decrease the price and increase my value.

Maybe I should rather ask, what upcoming sale time is there? I don't really keep up with festivities and the likes.

European here, Sadly I can't buy from Newegg(totally would if I could) Usually I have to buy from amazon.de/fr/es/uk although I avoid Uk due to pound conversion to euros, if I dare try .com I get import taxes higher then the actual product.
The only problem I have is being scared that I'll run out of space soon after purchasing the 500Gb model, but at the same time I just feel like I'll buy the 1TB model and like you said it'll go on sale.

I guess my best solution is to wait on a sale whenever they happen, not sure when easter was(or has it passed already?)
