Heard that AMD 8000 series should come February 2013 and offer major performance boost. My friend was going to buy 7970ghz but after I told him this he is going to wait and i feel bad because I am not 100% sure this is credible at all. What do you think and would it be worth it to wait?

Its been released in Australia in july,I bought a HP desktop p6 series with A8-5500 CPU+HD7560D integrated GPU and discrete graphics card HD7450,that is actually a re-branded HD6450. After approx 6 weeks of trying to get the two GPUs to crossfire,or dual graphics or whatever,I find out that the card HP included with the computer package I bought is not compatible with the A8-5500,can you believe that! It cost me $1000. This my first & last time with HP.

Yes Expect big improvements just from minor rumor/mill not to mention the GCN Revision...I'm Pretty stoked as I think that they will pack a decent punch at a competitive price. I am currently holding out for the 8000 series because I believe there will be multiple GPU's at many more different price points. Also if you scrape together all the info you can you will find that the memory interface is stepped up all the way across the series.....so we shall see....redrooster up top has the funniest response I've ever seen! Well, in awhile anyways...

This thread is about AMD's Next Gen GPUS which would be 8000 series which would compete with the next gen Nvidia 700 series....The TI is indicative of the REFRESHED current gen Nvidia Cards which yield more performance than their non Ti counterparts.

Looks like you been drinking the green koolaid LOL.

No that is not what the Ti is indicative of.

so you're saying that the Ti version of a card for instance 650ti is not a refresh of the 650 and doesn't yield performance gains?? Because I was under a different impression. This NVIDIA subject came up under this AMD 8000 series thread on a whim. I just came here to see if anyone knew about the amd hd 8000 series.... I personally can care less about a badge or nod for Nvidia, they're good, but this is an AMD 8000 series thread!! Instead I have one yahoo saying they're already out in Australia when he's talking about an APU, then another comparing current gen AMD cards to would be next gen Nvidia cards>>>>Madness.......Tom's Still Rocks though

They are different cards with different core counts, 384 for the 650 (closer to the 560Ti) and 748 for the 650Ti . Chances are the non Ti's are silicon that didn't make the grade so the broken bits were removed with a laser and the GPU goes into a lower ranked card.
