i have an old hard drive that i think is starting to fail, ive had it about 6-8 years , recently games have started to "uninstall" there selfs and weird stuff like that has been happening , on top of that when loading into some games it has frame drops on the "entering" screens like its having problems loading the game up.

You don't think it's just getting too old? And how do u defrag it, what's it do, and will I need to re-do windows cus I don't have the key anymore I lost it, new to this stuff lol

A drive could be 100% fragmented and while games would load exceptionally slow, they would not "uninstall" themselves.

The only way for a game to "uninstall" itself is if the area of the hard drive it is written to is having problems reading / writing.

I highly recommend running the diagnostics test from above.

You can simply run the diagnostics and walk away while it completes.
