When is the best time to invest in a new computer or computer parts?

Hey!

About 2 years ago I had a friend help me put together a computer for myself. It's still really good~ Everything is running the way it should.

With new games coming out, their requirements are always increasing, some being about 8GB of ram. I'm not sure if its the ram requirement or something in my build (such as cpu because i do have a i5) or something else about the game but when the ram requirement is high its always an indication that my computer will have to work super hard, the tower heats up like crazy and the fans increasing in speed drastically. I filled each vent on my computer with a fan with an even amount of intakes and outtakes. This many fans makes a lot of noise >.<

I don't believe this is damaging my parts in anyway since the game itself runs smoothly, but if it might be let me know c:

I've looked up ways to stop this and I think the only way is to just get a new computer with upgraded parts.

But money doesn't grow on trees and computers can be expensive if i want to run newer games without turning my tower into a giant wind tunnel.

When is a good time to get new parts or a new computer in general? Or does anyone know a way to avoid this heat storm?

well if your in the US Black Friday/Cyber Monday is the most predictable sales time. Other countries have their own "sales" holidays though by my knowledge only the Chinese "Singles Day" really rivals Black Friday in its utter "everything must go" scope.

Other than that sales are mostly random and not unified. Just because a new model of GPU is out and the old model is on sale doesn't mean RAM and Motherboards go on sale too.


What fans did you buy? If you really, really want it to be as quiet as possible look into the Noctua line; pricey, brown, but worth it if it matters to you.

which cooler are you using? are you using a stock cooler? Have you changed the TIM (Thermal Interface Material AKA thermal paste)?

after 2 years its a good idea to change the thermal paste on any cooler. if you are running stock cooler you may want to consider a better cooler.

Which parts are we talking about here? please post your current rig?

Budget for a cooling upgrade?

Uh mainly going for best bang for buck but i rather not spend too much on just cooling.
Is the cooling system the problem for over heating? Or are my parts just not as supportive to new games so it has to work harder thus making it system hotter.
