When moving files to new HDD they're getting duplicated on the desktop. Any ideas to solve this??

My Brother just purchased a new HDD and is using it for storage of games. After he got it all setup he is now getting a problem of the files/folders he moved there are now duplicated to his desktop. He is more of a computer whiz than I and he can't seem to find the solution. Any help much appreciated

Did the drive come bundled with software? If so it might have a sync option in the software. Just a thought.

Are you moving files to the new drive, or copying them?
