When pressing shift + 2 i get @ symbol

I am in the UK, and use the UK keyboard settings, but shift+2 is american for @, and is not normal for me. I would like to get it back to normal, by pressing shift+@ symbol. I have checked online, yet no prevail. I ahve windows 8.1, the language settings are in UK qwerty keyboard version, please can you help me.

Make sure you only have one keyboard installed. At your Start Screen type 'Keyboard' and select 'Edit Keyboard & Language' Should look like this ...

If you see US keyboard, remove it!
