Okay to preface this post please read this:

- This was happening a fair bit, sometimes on quick boots and sometimes just randomly on the desktop BUT

- This was fixed by 2 things: Complete wipe of both the drives, brand new install of windows and BIOS update (thanks to a user here) from 1.01 to 1.07

- I thought this bug was completely fixed but now it happens ONLY when I close the lid (e.g. I'm on the desktop or in a document, whatever and I close the lid which puts the laptop to sleep) and when I open the lid back up it makes a little squeak then turns off and boots into the BIOS with the error message: "ROM image not loaded, ROM Image update denied".
But if I exit without saving it'll boot fine back into Windows ?

Any ideas why this is happening? Thankyou

Check your hd drives health. Sounds like that one may have some kind of problem. A squeak may indicate your hd isn't spinning correctly.

to me a Squeak seems like the power supply? Idk

but you were sort of right, it has a 256gb SSD and a 1TB HDD, and the 1TB wasn’t actually even formatted from when I wiped it and not assigned a letter so now it’s NTFS and drive D: but crystal disk info has a “caution” for a high reallocated sectors count, I ended up doing a CHKDSK /f /r on it and got this:

but weird because CDD shows the SSD which is the C drive and OS drive is 94% health.. so idk why a D drive b faulty would kill it when rising from sleep?
