I have windows server 2012 R2 installed as VM on Hyper V. I have an ethernet connection, and each time I create the virtual switch in Hyper-V manager it kicks my current adapter offline. I installed this server a couple of weeks ago and began building it, but long story short, we had to upgrade our router and modem (docsis 3.0 network update) and ever since then this problem has been occurring. Thanks!

Funny thing is, when I do select that, is when I get kicked off. So I am not sure how this worked, but
-I recreated the switch
-Turned on the virtual machine, then turned it off.
-Powered down my physical machine
-Waited about 12 hours, although not intentionally as I just ran out of time working on it the previous day
-Rebooted the router and modem with 0 devices turned on and connected them one by one
-Ran my advanced system care on my machine, it didn't find any network problems however, only simple registry cleans from updates that had mislocated folders etc.
-Powered up the vm, and bam it worked.

I really have no reasonable explanation other than letting it sort itself out.
