Question When should I replace the thermal paste on my GPU?

Hi all. I built my system back in 2016 and built it with an MSI R9 390 8GB graphics card. I game, surf the web, and watch an awful lot of videos. I was looking at MSI Afterburner and it is showing my GPU temp to be between 55 and 57 Celsius while idle. Is this where the temp needs to be or should I go ahead, tear the card down, clean it up, and put new thermal paste on the heat sink. I don't want to burn it up as graphics cards are fairly expensive right now. Any and all assistance is appreciated.

I'd say repaste, even for an AMD card, that's pretty toasty.

Actually, I screwed up. It's running 45 to 50 and not the other as I had just gotten of the internet. Sorry
